AMRITSAR, May 31: Vice-Chancellor H.S. Soch, Pro Vice-Chancellor Inder Pal Singh, Dean academic affairs Satinder Singh and Registrar R.S. Bawa of the Guru Nanak Dev University here today expressed their deep grief over the sad demise of eminent scholar Harbans Singh. They also expressed sympathy with the bereaved family. In a condolence message they said Harbans Singh through his works had rendered commendable services to the Sikh literature which would be remembered by the coming generations.

JALNDHAR, May 31: Phillaur police claimed to have recovered hawala money of Rs 6.50 lakh from Surjit Singh alias Sonu when he was intercepted at a police check point on Phillaur-Nawanshahr road on Thursday last. Police today said the accused, a resident of Patti Khalsa village under Goraya police station, confessed that he was going to deliver the money to Joginder Singh of Raipur Raian. Police have registered a case against the accused

AMRITSAR, May 31: Guru Nanak Dev University will declare the results of BA Part-I and BA Part-II (Private) examinations held in March/April this year tomorrow, June 1. This was stated today by R.S.Bawa, the registrar of the university.
