COA to conduct camp in August

The COA has also requested Sports Director Rao to appoint a coordinator who will supervise the camps. The apex sports body will also appoint its co-ordinator. Rao had given assurance to extend full cooperation to the COA for preparing and sending the Union Territory team for Manipur Games.

Besides, Sahota, the other members of the committee present in the meeting were Vijay Pal Singh, JPS Sidhu, Inderpal Singh and H S Bansal. Later, the COA secretary general directed the concerned affiliated units to submit the list of players (duly filled forms with attested photos of players, officials) before August 19. In a circular, the COA has informed the associations that only domicile sportspersons of Chandigarh would be eligible in the Union Territory team.

Harjinder appointed
On the recommendations of the selection committee, Harjinder Singh, a former international footballer has been appointed as a junior football coach in the Chandigarh Sports Department.
