Comrade from Nepal in Delhi

As part of the efforts of Nepal’s seven-party alliance to seek support from Indian political parties for restoration of democracy there, Madhav Kumar Nepal, general secretary of Communist Party of Nepal (UML) met CPM general secretary Prakash Karat and politburo member Sitaram Yechury on Monday.

‘‘We discussed plans to intensify the movement and the CPM expressed full support to us,’’ said the CPN (UML) leader.

Yechury said, “We don’t want the government to resume military supplies to Nepal. This is what we conveyed to the PM and External Affairs Minister.”

Madhav Nepal is likely to meet the PM and representatives of other political parties.
