With four MLAs, including two from the Congress, resigning from their seats to contest on BJP ticket in Karnataka, the Congress on Monday accused the ruling party of indulging in “horse trading” and demanded a CBI intervention in the matter. AICC media cell chairman M Veerappa Moily asked the Centre to step in and rope in the Income Tax Department and the CBI to prevent a “holocaust of democracy”. “The role of money bags, builders and mafia is on display in Karnataka as a theatre of the absurd is being played. Black money is raising its head and MLAs are being offered post of ministers, land and money for supporting the Government,” he said.
