NAGPUR, APRIL 5: The state Congress has geared up for ensuring the success of the proposed massive rally on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Deekshabhoomi here on April 14. Titled `Save constitution, Save country’, party chief Sonia Gandhi will address the gathering on the occasion. Senior Congress leader Sudhakar Gangane has been appointed as the coordinator for the proposed rally.

While announcing various committees to ensure the success of the proposed rally, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Govindrao Adik entrusted the maintenance of the Deekshabhoomi ground and dais to Govindrao Wanjari. Vilasrao Muttemwar and Satish Chaturvedi will be in charge of the cultural programmes.

Those in charge of the other committees are: Kishore Kashikar (maintenance of meeting place and permission of ground etc), Avinash Pande (publicity, coordination with the press and electronic media), Ashok Dhawad (decoration and maintenance), Shivajirao Moghe (transport), Anees Ahmed (protocol), Vashudhatai Deshmukh (accommodation), Ranjit Deshmukh (lunch/dinner for participants coming from outside).

The MPCC has also set up a coordination committee to supervise the preparation for the rally. Senior Congress leader and vice president of the MPCC Ulhas Pawar has been nominated chairman of the committee while Ranjit Deshmukh, Shivajirao Moghe, Manikrao Thakre, Vashudhatai Deshmukh, Anees Ahmed, Sulekha Kumbhare, Mukul Wasnik, Vilasrao Muttemwar, Satish Chaturvedi, Nitin Raut, Chitralekha Bhonsale, Avinash Pande, Govindrao Wanjari, Ashok Dhawad, Deepak Katole, S Q Zama, Kishore Kashikar, Vasantrao Mankawde, Krishnakumar Pande, Sudhakarrao Gangane and Baburao Tidke are the members of the committee.
