CHANDIGARH, Nov 16: Acting president of the Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee (CTCC) Kul Bhushan Gupta has constituted a Disciplinary Committee and a Human Rights Committee of the local Congress. While local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal would be the chairman of the state Human Rights Committee, senior Congress leader B.B. Bahl will be the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee.
Others appointed as members of the Disciplinary Committee are Subhash Chawla, Sunil Parti, Surinder Bhatia and J.N. Shastri.
Gupta has also appointed Surinder Bhatia as the chairman of the State Election Authority for the forthcoming organisational elections of the Chandigarh Congress. Bal Krishan Bansal has also been appointed as chairman of the traders’ cell of CTCC.
The Human Rights Committee, constituted to help educate the masses about their fundamental rights, duties and human rights violations, will have Subhash Chawla as its member secretary, with Sher Singh, Sunil Parti, Sharestha Mehta, Kamlesh, Mohammad Khalid, Pawan Sharma, H.S. Lucky, O.P. Verma and Vishavir Sharma appointed as its members.
Besides, Gupta has also appointed Surjit Chaudhary as district president of the Human Rights Committee and Parminder Thukral as its block president.
