Cong suspects allies: Naidu

A day after Congress chief Sonia Gandhi indirectly charged BJP with attempts to sabotage her efforts to align with Mayawati, BJP chief M. Venkaiah Naidu gave a spin to the allegation. He said: ‘‘Congress is suspicious about the intention of its alliance partners.’’

He added: ‘‘Sonia says BJP is pressuring the BSP not to go with Congress. Mayawati is not a coward as projected by Sonia. She has undermined Mayawati. We do not call our ally a coward…It appears that Congress is heading for a divorce with its allies before marriage.’’
