Two Congress workers were killed in a TDP-dominated village in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. Police officials said the killings were carried out in retaliation for the murders of two TDP men in the same area last year.
According to the police, the victims, Koti Reddy and Bakki Reddy, were attacked by a mob as they were walking down a street in Mittagudipadu village. Their attackers reportedly threw bombs and ran away.
SP B Shivdhar Reddy said: “There was no personal rivalry between the two factions, it was a political feud.” Last year, Congress workers had allegedly killed Sarpanch Ramakoti Reddy, and another worker in a similar attack.
