A state Congress leader has accused J-K Revenue Minister Hakim Mohammad Yasin of making ‘‘illegal appointments’’ in the Baramulla-Qazigund rail project. Yasin, elected as an Independent candidate last year, had appointed 39 people, including his nephew, in the project. At a press conference today, state Congress general secretary Tariq Mohiudin handed out copies of the appointment orders, cataloguing the names of appointees. ‘‘The Mufti Mohammed government had promised transparent governance but the claims seem to have fallen flat,’’ Mohiudin said. The beneficiaries are relatives of former NC MLAs and officials in the project, he added.
