The J-K police have registered a murder case against the Army over the killing of two persons in a firing incident in Pulwama on Thursday after the state government ordered an inquiry two days ago.
‘‘The youths…Rizwam-ul-Haq (17) and Muzaffar Ahmed Ganai (30) were killed by the Army. Whether it was a case of mistaken identity is to be investigated,” the spokesman said. The Station House Officer, Zainapora in Shopian area, has been appointed investigating officer and has been asked to submit a report within a week.

The Army has said the two were killed in exchange of fire between the troops and the militants. The government ordered a probe into the killing when Minister of State for Social Welfare Ghulam Hassan Khan visited the village.
