Priyanka Todi faced the CBI investigators for over an hour on Tuesday, but blamed no one for the trauma she has been put through.

During the interrogation—in the presence of two women officers—Priyanka reportedly told the CBI that she was not forced by top officers of the Kolkata Police to separate from her husband. She said she had willingly married Rizwanur and gone to stay at his residence. Priyanka told the CBI that she decided to visit her father after she was told that he was critically ill.

Four days into the CBI investigation, only prime accused Ashok Todi remains to be examined by the agency. Sources said the businessman was likely to be interrogated anytime soon.

Meanwhile, the CBI is yet to rule out the suicide angle despite the murder case filed against the Todis. Sources said the agency was trying to find out if Rizwanur had written a suicide note. A CBI official said they would decide on the necessity of a second post mortem only after receiving an opinion from the All India Institute of Medical Science.

The CBI team has also taken into custody bank papers and collected information regarding Rizwanur’s account at the Standard Chartered Bank. They also cracked into Rizwanur’s computer at Arena Multimedia. The CBI also took into custody Rizwanur’s second cell phone, which was now being used by his brother Rukbanur.

It was learnt that between August 18 and August 31, following their marriage, Rizwanur and Priyanka spent only two days at Rizwanur’s home and two days at his aunt’s place. The investigators are trying to ascertain where the two stayed for the rest of the days.
