VADODARA, Jan 7: Commissioner of Police J Mahapatra has restricted the entry of heavy goods vehicles from 8 am to 9 pm on the road from Lalbaugh railway crossing to Kalaghoda via Baroda Central Jail road from Thursday, to ease traffic congestion.

Those having any suggestions or objections should give the same to the police commissionerate within 30 days.

According to a statement issued by Mahapatra, heavy goods vehicles coming from Ahmedabad and headed for Surat-Mumbai during the restricted hours will have to take a diversion from Fertiliser by-pass to the National Highway No. 8 for their onward journey.

Similarly, heavy goods vehicles coming from Mumbai-Surat and headed for Ahmedabad and onwards will have to take a diversion from Jambua by-pass and pass through Miles India, Golden Crossing and Fertiliser by-pass for their journey to Ahmedabad.

However, city ST buses, school buses, police and Vadodara Municipal Corporation buses, fire brigade vehicles and ambulances are exempted from the restrictions.
