NEW DELHI, Dec 6: The CPI-(ML) today demanded a time-bound CBI probe into the killing of 61 people in Lakshmanpur-Bathe village of Bihar’s Jehanabad district on December 1.

Party general secretary Vinod Mishra, now camping in Patna, said the state government’s assurances of taking action against the Ranvir Sena, allegedly responsible for the massacre, was “meaningless” until the Sena nexus with some political parties was established. “Therefore, we demand a time-bound CBI inquiry into the nexus between the Sena and the BJP,” Mishra said.A CPI-(ML) delegation led by party spokesman K D Yadav had met the state governor A R Kidwai in this regard last night.

CPI-(ML), along with 16 other left and democratic parties which observed a state-wide bandh yesterday in protest against the killings, has also demanded the resignation of the Rabri Devi government on moral grounds.
