The CPI-M, which is working hard for a Third Front admitted on Saturday that it might lose some seats in next Lok Sabha polls in Kerala and did not appear to rule out the possibility of a new political equation after the elections.Asked how it would be possible for CPI-M to lead the Third Front as it was unlikely to increase its seat strength in Parliament this time, party politburo member Sitaram Yechuri claimed it will happen as the party was uniting political forces on the basis of five political issues. ''So it does not mattter how strong we are. 'It (the possibility of the reduction in Left's strength in the polls) is a speculation but some seats may be reduced. Like we won in 19 seats out of 20 in Kerala last time and this time there may be some shortage but we are working to increase the overall strength,'' Yechuri told newsmen in Agartala. He said CPI(M) would galvanise all non-Congress political forces for a Third alternative. "BJP is trying to float the idea that Indian polity is bipolar and either Congress-led UPA or BJP-led NDA would come to power in the parliamentary polls. We want to prove that the idea is wrong", Yechury said.Asked if there is any possibility of new political equation after the parliamentary elections, he said ''when we are working for the Third Front, how can I talk about any new political equation? But if any equation arises then we will see.''The five political issues on which CPI(M) is trying to rally non-Congress and non-BJP forces are cancelling of Indo-US civil nuclear deal, strong steps against any attempt to communalisation, stopping misuse of government institutions like CBI, fighting price rise and crisis in agriculture for which farmers are committing suicide, Yechury added.
