In a major turn-around, West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya today declared that CPI(M) will participate in the government at the Centre if the “Left-secular” parties are able to form one.‘‘There are strong indications that neither the Congress-led alliance nor NDA is getting a majority. In that case, we will try to form a government comprising all Left and secular parties. And if we find the Left can play a role in that government, we will take part,’’ he said.On prime ministership, he said there are able leaders in the ‘Left-secular’ parties who can lead the government. ‘‘In choosing the PM, the individual is not important. It will be decided on the basis of policies and programes,’’ he said.
