Man arrested for assault
An autorickshaw driver Piara Singh was arrested here today for allegedly beating up a person under Section 323 and 506 of the IPC. A resident had, a few days ago, stated in a complaint that Piara Singh beat him up when he asked him to return his loan.

Man succumbs to injuries
An unknown accident victim, who was brought here in an injured condition from Ambala, succumbed to his injuries at the PGI on Monday. The deceased is believed to be in his thirties.

Three consume poison
Three persons have been admitted to the PGI after they reportedly consumed poison. These are Daddu Majra resident Sanjeev Kumar, Sector 49 resident Gagandeep and Sector 37 resident R.K. Mehra.

Motorcycle stolen
Sector 45 resident Dev Sharma has reported to the police that his Yamaha motorcycle CH-01-Q-9553 has been stolen from his residence. The police have registered a case.

Three arrested
The city Police have arrested three persons for allegedly trying to commit an offence under Section 109 of Indian Penal Code.

The three persons, Rajinder Kumar alias Kaku, Ramesh Kumar alias Amritsaria and Paramjit Singh were arrested from Sector 29 when they were trying to hide in the bushes around 11.30 last night, said police sources. While two of them are Sector 30 residents, one resides in Kishangarh village. The three were equipped with a rod and some tools, they added.
