Padra house burgled
Rs 3 lakhs in cash and ornaments worth Rs 15,000 were reportedly stolen from two houses in the Santoshnagar area of Padra town, about 18 kms from here, last night. According to the Padra police, Balwantbhai Bhatt, had kept the money in the steel cupboard and went to sleep on the terrace of his house alongwith his parents. The burglars entered his house by removing the window grill and decamped with the cash. Ornaments worth Rs 15,000 were stolen from another house of the same locality belonging to Kanubhai Parmar.

Guards arrested
The Chhani police have registered a case of theft against three security guards of a godown of the ABS Company on Ranoli-Padamla road. According to the police, plastic granules and nylon materials worth Rs 76,625 were reported missing from the godown though the guards were on duty in shifts.

Tea stall robbed
A tea stall owner, Narayanbhai Raojibhai Rabari of Bajwa Road, was allegedly assaulted and Rs 800 from his cash box snatched forcibly by one Raju Rajput, a resident of Bajwa Saurashtra Society, when the tea vendor demanded Rs 5 for the biscuit the latter had eaten. According to the police, Rajput was annoyed by the demand and thrashed the vendor before snatching the cash.

Vehicle stolen
Umakant Dahyabhai Patel, a resident of Kedardham Society in Manjelpur area, has complained to the police that his Luna moped (GJ-6-CC-9112) worth Rs 8,000 was stolen from outside the State Bank of India office adjoining the City police station. A case has lodged in the City police station and investigations started.
