Membership to the Cafe may also be given at a later date if the corporate types decide to frequent the place more often. For those who want to just mix business with pleasure, talks are on to open a Cyber Pub by March, a concept which is already a rage in Bangalore. These pubs are tied up with the United Breweries, where you can netsurf with a little help from a chilled beer.

Net Cafe uses 16 of the state-of-the-art IBM computers and 17-inch high resolution colour monitors. E-mail, Internet fax and research facilities will be available for reasonable rates to officegoers in the area and nearby areas. "The whole concept of the Net Cafe is to make it easily accessible to people at reasonable rates. We are basically looking at a target audience in two segments – the serious surfer and the surfer who is doing it just for pleasure," said Pradipto Basu, who is the marketing in charge of the Net Cafe. The Net Cafe is for the serious types while the CyberPub, to be opened in March, is for the lighter vein. "A Cyber Pub will also be started at Pune," added Basu. Cadbury Scwheppes will sponsor snacks and additional support has been provided by ITC and Birla Global Finance.
