MUMBAI, APRIL 26: It was somewhat a frustrating opening day for the visiting Kenya XI who are playing a friendly three-day game against Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President’s XI at the Wankhede Stadium, here, on Wednesday.

After medium-pacers Thomas Odoyo and brothers Martin and Tony Suji had the hosts by their tail reducing them to 67 for eight, all-rounder Sandeep Dahad and wicketkeeper Abhijit Shetye joined hands to add 104 for the ninth wicket which saw the hosts finish the day at a relatively respectable 179-9.

Dahad was unbeaten on 65 (7×4, 262 minutes) while Shetye was out for 31 (214 minutes). The pair came together 20 minutes before lunch and batted for nearly two sessions, proving a point or two to fellow-batsmen, before the latter fell to Martin Suji at the fag end of the day.
