Pakistani lawyers may attend meet at Ludhiana on July 28
Roopnagar: Several Pakistani lawyers, including human rights activist Asma Jehngir and Lahore High Court Bar Association President Khalid Ranjha, are likely to attend the Punjab State All India Lawyers’ Union Conference at Ludhiana on July 28. Senior union functionary Khushwant Rai Joshi said today that various problems pertaining to the law will be discussed during the conference.

Decision to appoint new principal hailed
Patiala: The Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union, Patiala unit, has hailed the decision of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Jagir Kaur to appoint a new principal of Khalsa College here. In a joint statement issued today, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi, president of the union, and Jaswant Singh, secretary, welcomed the appointment of Gulshan Lal Bhutani as the new principal of Khalsa College in place of Gurtej Singh Sidhu. Both union leaders termed the decision as timely and appropriate.

Boycott of examinations postponed
Patiala: The University and College Laboratory Staff Federation of India, Punjab unit, has decided to postpone its earlier decision to boycott the university practical examinations that will start from June 6, said Kuldeep Singh Khalsa, president of the federation, in a statement issued today.

Office-bearers of Lions Club elected
