The rally will then turn into a peoples’ march and the procession would be led by Simranjit Singh Mann, president, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar).

Seeking the release of Sikh detenues, Dal Khalsa secretary general Kanwar Pal Singh said as many as 60 Sikh youth lodged in Nabha jail had decided to go an indefinite hunger strike, if their plight was ignored by the government. The processionists would walk to the residence of Chief Minister. Parkash Singh Badal and submit a memorandum to him. Many human rights groups have agreed to join the march, Kanwar Pal Singh said.
