India is planning to take part in a triangular cricket series, also featuring arch rivals Pakistan and Australia, to be held in Europe before the Champions Trophy next year. BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya said the venue and the dates of the proposed tri-series have not yet been finalised.

‘‘Nothing has been finalised yet. India will be going to Pakistan in Febraury and then also play in the Asia Cup. If everything goes right then we plan to have a tri-series between India, Pakistan and Australia,’’ Dalmiya told Doordarshan during the India-Australia tri-series final here today.

‘‘The tournament could be held somewhere in Europe or if we get the permission in the United Kingdom to acclimatise for the Champions Trophy.’’

The Champions Trophy is to be held in England in September next year.
