Aug 10: National champion Nagsen Etambe defeated second seed Saajid Sayyad in straight games 25-2, 25-18 to enter the quarterfinals of the Pratapchandra Gupta Memorial District Ranking carrom tournament today.At the Nagindas Khandwala College in Malad, top seed Vilas Dalvi overcame Suhas Pomendkar 25-17, 13-25, 25-5 in a thrilling three-game encounter to enter the last eight.

In the women’s singles, top seed Anupama Kedar blanked Monica Ghodke 25-0, 25-0, while national champion Parimi Nirmala also had an easy time defeating Ivy Fernandes 25-0, 25-0.
