After wading into the Chhath puja spat to take on Raj Thackeray, Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday found Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray daring him to do the sun worship ritual at Marina beach in Chennai. The handle for Bal Thackeray, in an apparent attempt to get even at the RJD supremo, came following the decision by the Karunanidhi Government to make Tamil compulsory in Tamil Nadu’s school syllabus. The Sena supremo taunted him to perform the puja in Chennai to signal his opposition to the move by Yadav’s ally in the UPA Government implicitly suggesting that he may not be allowed to do so.Bal Thackeray while expressing his views in an editorial published in party mouthpiece Saamna gently reminded Lalu about the ordinance imposed by the DMK Government on making Tamil compulsory. “Lalu who has turned Bihar into a hell, should hold a mela of Biharis in Tamil Nadu ruled by his ally at the Centre to champion the cause of North Indians there.”
