A day after the worst-ever clash between two factions of the NSCN left 15 persons, including one civilian, dead on the outskirts of Nagaland’s commercial hub Dimapur, the situation continued to be tense but “under control”.

On Friday, 14 NSCN (Unification) cadres were gunned down allegedly by rival NSCN (IM) cadres at Seithekema-C village near Dimapur. While police have picked up a number of persons in connection with the clashes, Dimapur SP Lirimo Lotha said that there was no fresh incident on Saturday.

“The situation is very much under control. Various NGOs have also helped us restore normalcy in the area,” Lotha said. The authorities have promulgated Section 144 of the CrPC in Dimapur, Chumukedima and other adjoining areas.
