NEW DELHI, October 5: Four armed assailants reportedly broke into the east Delhi house of a company executive on Monday morning and decamped with cash and jewellery worth an as-yet-unspecified amount. The robbery took place at the 20/603, Eastern Apartments, Kalyanpuri house of Manish Bahl who's employed as manger (exports) at Khaitan fans. A police spokesman said that Manish, his father J.N. Bahl and wife Madhu were all away at work at the time of the incident.Only their domestic helper Raju Varma (20), hired about 25 days ago, was present at home. In his testimony, Raju said that two men claiming to be plumbers knocked at the door around 10.30 and said they wanted to check the seepage in the house. He said he told them to come later since there was nobody at home. ``Raju claims that the men then just barged into the house and tied him up,'' a police official said. ``They were later joined by another two men after which the gang proceeded to ransack the entire house, breaking locks and cupboards. They left after taking the cash and jewellery they found.'' The police however find Raju's claim that the robbers untied him before leaving intriguing. ``And even then he did not raise an alarm or call the police. He called Manish at his office who then informed the police,''the spokesman added.
