Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi on Friday announced that the DD Urdu TV channel, which was launched by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on August 15, will be made a 24-hour service starting November 14. The channel is conceived as a heritage channel, which will have segments on entertainment and enrichment of culture and information.
“DD Urdu will begin a 24-hour transmission service. It presently airs programmes for 7 hours a day, but we are now making it a round-the-clock service,” Dasmunsi said.
