Chief Election Commissioner J.M. Lyngdoh said on Tuesday that the Commission would soon take a decision on the contentious issue of inclusion of Bru community members, now lodged in Tripura refugee camps, in Mizoram voters list. He said he would go back to Delhi and take a decision but maintained that the matter was ‘‘political’’ and it was up to politicians to take a decision.

Random allocation of EVMs in MP

BHOPAL: In a bid to prevent possible tampering of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to be used in the coming Assembly polls in MP, the EC would allocate the machines randomly in all constituencies. On the lines of deployment of polling booth personnel, the EVMs would also be employed in a random manner, sources said, adding District Election Officers have been asked to ensure the move.

Chhattisgarh Cong minister joins NCP

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh’s sitting Congress Minister Vidhan Mishra, who was denied a party ticket, joined the NCP on Tuesday. A staunch V.C. Shukla supporter, Mishra had resigned two days ago protesting against denial of ticket. The Congress has nominated Shaya Verma from the seat.
