Two youths arrested on charge of murder

January 28: Mohammad Furkan, 20, and Mohammad Mehboob, 18, have been arrested in connection with the murder of Subhash, 17, by the south-west district police.

The three were reportedly involved in a dispute over money. Both the accused have previous criminal records. Subhash’s body was found on January 25 near the Bharat Gas godown opposite Kamal Cinema. The body was found near the Raj Nagar Ring Road crossing. The body had several stab wounds on the stomach, chest and throat.

Later, the body was identified as that of Subhash, a resident of Indira jhuggi opposite Kamal cinema. The mother of the deceased, Ram Kali, had made a statement that Subhash was taken away from her jhuggi by two boys at about 10 p.m. on the night of January 24. Both culprits were apprehended from the Indira Camp in Green Park. After sustained interrogation, both the accused reportedly admitted to having committed the crime. The police claim to have recovered the murder weapon, aknife.

Post-mortem reveals bullet wound in body fished out of canal

The Kalyanpuri police have registered a case of murder after a postmortem was conducted on a body found in the Hindon canal near Kondli bridge on January 13. The body was of a man aged 30 years, 5’6", clad in a green half T-shirt, brown trousers and yellow underwear. The postmortem report reportedly states that death was caused by a bullet wound. The body is yet to be unidentified.

Man robbed of Rs 5,000

A resident of Gurgaon, Intzar, 52, was robbed of Rs 5,000 near Katra Neel on Tuesday. Three persons approached him for change for Rs 50. When he said that he hadn’t any, one of them snatched Intzar’s shawl which had Rs 5,000 wrapped in it. Intzar raised an alarm and managed to nab one of the robbers, Babu Ram, 26, a resident of Aligarh. The other two managed to escape.

Pirated cassette racket busted

A police team from the Crime Branch raided a shop in Andha Mudgal which was reportedly manufacturing piratedcassettes and recovered three recording machines, 2,038 audio cassettes, 1,700 cassette covers, 1,500 blank cassettes, 14 screen boards, 94,000 inlay cards and a rewinding machine. The recording unit had the capacity to churn out 26 audio cassettes each with one master at a time. At the time of the raid, songs of Hindi blockbusters Shanpath and Hero No. 1 were being recorded. Bishan Dass, 28, has been arrested. A case under Copyright Act has been registered at the Partap Nagar police station and investigations are in progress.
