NEW DELHI, December 15:The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has done it again. In the space of 10 minutes, DDCA sent two different lists of players (both signed by sports secretary Sunil Dev) for Delhi’s last games in the North Zone one-day and Ranji Trophy, to be held at Jammu during December 25-29.

While the first list did not have the name of opener Aakash Chopra, the second list included his name. “It was a typographical error,” a messenger carrying the press release, explained.

This is not the first time such `errors’ had been committed by the DDCA officials. In the past, too, team lists had been changed quite often before they reached newspaper offices. The Delhi selectors today dropped Sumeet Dogra and Harinder Chaudhary from its original one-day squad for their last league encounter. The sports secretary had released two separate lists of players (both one-day and Ranji) at the beginning of the season (October 13).While Rajesh Gehlot and Sanjay Gill have been added to the one-day team, medium pacer Arun Singh has been included in the list of 15 for the Ranji game.

Robin Singh Jr, a regular member of the squad, however, is away in New Zealand with the Indian team. The teams were announced here today by DDCA sports secretary Sunil Dev after a meeting of the senior selection committee held here yesterday.

For the one-day competition, Punjab have already qualified for next year’s Wills Trophy and hence the result of the Delhi-Jammu and Kashmir one-dayer will have no bearing.
