Murder-cum-robbery case solved

The Crime Branch has solved a murder-cum-robbery case committed on the night between January 15 and 16 in the area of PS Jahangir Puri. A raid organised in Wazirpur Industrial Area recovered 11 bearings, weighing about 150 kg each, used in big machines valuing over Rs 3,00,000 from the possession of a 50-year-old Mata Saran.

Interrogation revealed that a ball bearing agent Naresh had sold these to Mata Saran on January 16.Further investigation revealed that these ball bearings were looted from shed 53 GTK Industrial Area, Jahangirpuri, by the unknown robbers by murdering chowkidar Narendra (25).

Another person Man Mohan (25) r/o A-200 Shastri Nagar was arrested when he came to meet Mata Saran. Man Mohan disclosed that he along with Rajiv Sharma alias Naresh, Ram Parshad, Chittu and Kallu all residents of Shastri Nagar conspired to commit a robbery at the above said shed. All five assembled near the factory, Man Mohan waited outside while the other four entered the factory.

They murdered the chowkidar Narender and looted 11 ball bearings which were taken in a tempo to Mata Saran. A case, FIR no 24 dated January 16 under section 460 IPC PS Jahangirpuri, had been registered in this connection and Mata Saran and Man Mohan have been arrested. Other accused are absconding.

Auto driver killed in South Delhi accident

A three-wheeler driver, Rajender, died in a road accident at Ashram Chowk early today morning. It has been reported that a truck loaded with groundnut bags hit another truck from behind in which two-wheeler scooters were loaded.

This truck further hit the three-wheeler. The drivers of both the trucks fled the spot. Srinivaspuri police has registered a case of accident and is on the look-out for the erring drivers.

ASI, constable suspended for beating boy

The DCP South-West today ordered the suspension of ASI Jeetu Oroan and constable Joginder Singh for allegedly beating a teenage-boy Aseem Sharma.

Man arrested for raping daughter

The Anand Vihar police have arrested a 45-year-old man, Yasmin, for allegedly raping his own 14-year-old daughter at New Sanjay Amar Colony.The incident came to light when the daughter, who is reported to be three months pregnant, approached the area police. Yasmin, a widower, works as a daily wager and has four children.

Leather factory looted

Nearly a dozen people reportedly barged into a factory, Pal Enterprises, at Okhla Industrial Area Phase-I and looted it today morning. The factory manufactures leather jackets and exports the same.Shiv Bahadur and Girish Chand, the factory watchmen, were beaten up by the dacoits. Finished leather was loaded in a tempo from the basement of the factory. Constable Sukhbir along with two other constables was on patrolling in the area.

They noticed movement of the Tempo and caught one of them Ram Vilas (22) r/o Madhubani in Bihar, while the others fled. Okhla police have registered a case of dacoity and is further investigating it.

Woman’s body found

A body of an unidentified woman (around 30 year’s old) was recovered buried near the railway track of Mongolpuri Industrial Area Phase I. The woman was wearing a red saree and a black blouse. She was first spotted by some labourers working close by who informed the police.

Man held for killing wife

The Badarpur police solved a murder case with the arrest of Palwinder, held for murdering his wife Sarbjeet Kaur alias Rita (25). Palwinder’s brother, Sarwan, has also been arrested.Palwinder, who worked as a Sewadar in a Gurudwara, got married in 1990 and had three children.

According to the police reports the couple didn’t get along well. A few weeks back, in one such fight, Palwinder strangulated his wife with his turban cloth, packed the body in a bag and dumped it in a nearby nallah, after which he fled to Amritsar. Rita’s brother got suspicious after his sister’s long absence and complained to the police. Palwinder was traced in Amritsar after which he confessed his crime.

Ex-wrestler held for murder

The Roopnangar thana police (North) solved a murder case by arresting a former wrestler, Rajesh Singh (26) alias Raju, on his arrival from Mumbai today. Rajesh was involved in the murder of Pardeep Kharbanda (owner of a car accessories shop).

The incident occured on July 17, 1997, when Rajesh along with two accomplices Harinder and Jassa opened fire on Pradeep which lead to his death. The gang on July 19, 1997, decamped with Rs 4.5 lakh in cash from a post office in Ashok Vihar.The trio also opened fire on a constable in Narela police station on September 4, 1997, after which Harinder was arrested. Jassu was arrested later.
