BANGALORE, January 18: The Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Akademi ahs made a plea for recognition of Tulu as an official language. The Akademi President, Balakrishna Shetty Polali, pointed out that the State had 35-lakh Tulu-speaking residents. The Akademi, meanwhile, is planning a series of programmes both in India and abroad during the next three years, including bringing out a handbook of famous Tulu personalities and organisations.
