November 26: Suburban services on the Central Railway (CR) were severely affected on Wednesday afternoon following the derailment of three empty oil wagons near Vidyavihar station.

The incident occurred at about 1.15 pm, when three empty oil tankers jumped the tracks and derailed. Nobody was injured in the mishap which brought CR services to a grinding halt for about 35 minutes before the slow line was started. Due to infringement of wagons on the fast (up through) track, the overhead equipment was broken, thus leading to tripping of power supply. The spokesperson added that relief work was started immediately to clear all the tracks.
