MUMBAI, NOV 6: Dinesh Kumar Dhagat has been selected as the managing director of the Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (CDSL). Dhagat is expected to assume office in the first week of December 1999 after a distinguished stint with the State Bank of India where presently he is the chief general manager (development banking).
Dhagat was earlier chief general manager of Bhopal circle of the SBI. He set up the corporate account group (CAG) the new structure of delayered relationship banking for top corporate customers of SBI, suggested by McKinsey & Company. Dhagat had handled several important assignments of SBI in India and aboard.

Dhagat takes over from P V Maiya, the present MD and former chairman of ICICI Bank who has relinquished office after a creative inning. CDSL has made significant progress during his tenure.
