The Government today came under immense pressure on the second day in Lok Sabha for a rollback on the proposed hike in fertiliser and diesel prices with the Opposition storming into the well demanding the withdrawal of the proposal, forcing an early adjournment of the House. While Opposition members shouted slogans and threatened to fight the hike ‘‘inside and outside the House’’, Speaker Manohar Joshi adjourned the House half-an-hour ahead of the lunch break.The issue was raised by SP’s Ramjilal Suman and Congress members Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi and Shivraj Patil who said the Government should immediately withdraw the hike.
