BHOPAL, February 25: The star Congress campaigner, Sonia Gandhi today hit out at BJP and the United Front for playing politics of `division’ saying if any of them came to power, the country’s unity would be threatened.

Addressing election meetings at Bhind, Shahdol, Bilaspur and Raigarh, Sonia without naming any party alleged that they were playing politics in the name of religion, caste and region and if they came to power, the weak and downtrodden would be crushed and the country’s unity and integrity would be in danger.

At all the four places, she pointed out that the Congress had given nine stable governments at the Centre in the last 45 years and added that it was this party alone which had the experience to provide another stable government, “that was the need of the hour”.

Political instability leads to price rise which in turn makes it tough for women to manage their households, she said.
