CHENNAI, July 10: A doctor at the Malar Hospitals here, who had been asked to pay compensation to a woman who accused him having performed an unwarranted hysterectomy on her, has been cleared because of the dissenting judgement delivered by one of the members of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. The member, Dr Angel Arulraj, citing the surgical pathological report of the patient, found no deficiency in service on the part of Dr Ravindra Padmanabhan, the doctor in question, and hence the complainant, Lakshmi Rajan, is not entitled to compensation.
