Stefano Domenicali will become Ferrari’s sporting director under a reorganisation announced by the Formula One team Monday.
Jean Todt had been in charge of the sports department on an interim basis for the 2007 season but now appears ready to move into a pure managerial role.
Other positions announced were Mario Almondo as operations director, Aldo Costa as technical director and Gilles Simon as engine director.
Ferrari said it would announce more details on the restructuring before the end of the year. Meanwhile, former Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn was hired Monday as team chief of rival Formula One team Honda.
