Now Doordarshan is set to join the DTH (direct to home) bandwagon. “The board on April 9 approved the idea and we will strive to ensure that it will be a good blend of pay and free to air channels,” CEO of Prasar Bharti K. S. Sarma said on Monday adding the modalities were being worked out.

Minister of I&B Ravi Shankar Prasad who inaugerated the Delhi chapter of the corporation’s marketing division, said he hoped that both DD and AIR would capitalise on their strengths incomparable with any other broadcaster. “This is an age of marketing an effective marketing of one’s strenghts is the order of the day, “ Prasad said.
