NEW DELHI, March 18: The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) ’98 is expected to attract more than 2 million visitors from all over the world and lead to more than $ 1 billion in incremental sales as preparations continue for the grand March 19 opening ceremony, which will kick off the 31-day event.

This tiny Emirate within the fast-developing United Arab Emirates is ready again to take its place on the world stage from March 19 to April 18, 1998, when millions will flock here for the low prices at thousands of outlets and world-class entertainment all over the city organised by this co-operative government and private sector event.

Building on the success of the first two annual festivals, organisers have expressed their optimism that Dubai Shopping Festival ’98 will surpass the figures of 1.6 million visitors and $ 843 million in incremental sales achieved during Dubai Shopping Festival ’97.
