NEW DELHI, July 26: Developed countries have initiated anti-dumping investigations against Indian products in respect of 14 cases and also imposed anti-dumping duties on them.
The United States, European Union, Canada, Brazil, South Africa and Indonesia have imposed the levies, according to official sources.
Of the 14 cases, anti-dumping duties have been levied by the European Union on polythylene/polypropylene woven sacks, unbleached cotton fabrics, synthetic fibre ropes, bed linen, potassium permanganate. On stainless steel wire rods, stainless steel flanges, sulphur dyues (negative injury) and stainless bars by the US, on singld speed free wheels and bicycle tyres by Brazil. On pharmaceutical drugs, by South Africa and by Indonesia on hot rolled coils/plates.
India has also launched investigations of dumping in respect of 39 cases of imports from several countries.
These include levy of final anti-dumping duties on some items and recommendations for provisional duties on others and cases under investigation for provisional duties.
