India’s Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd and dogged by controversies over its tail-rotor operations, is likely to get a certification from European Air Safety Agency (EASA) paving the way for its sale in foreign lands, particularly European countries.
Civil Aviation Secretary Ajay Prasad said, “We look forward to get the certification done for Dhruv when either the EASA director or his representative visits India early next year.” “Once it is done, we can have a comprehensive aviation bilateral agreement on safety,” he added.
Officials informed that the government wanted to make a beginning with Dhruv and get many more indigenously developed products certified from EASA.
