
NEW DELHI, JUNE 29: The Election Commission has decided to derecognise seven regional parties in some states based on their poll performance.
The political parties to be derecognised are: Haryana Vikas Party, NTR-TDP (Lakshmi Parvathi), Rashtriya Janata Dal in Manipur, Shiv Sena in Dadar, Nagar and Haveli, United Minority Party in Assam, Samajwadi Janata Party in Chandigarh and Samta Party in Haryana, Commission sources said.

Meanwhile, the CPI (M) which has been served notice on its derecognition as a national party, has been given time till July 15 for a reply and the Commission would hear the party on July 22, the sources said.
While the Republican Party of India (Gawai) has been issued notice for a hearing on July 6, Janata Party has been given time till July 20, the sources said, adding that the Commission has already heard Lok Shakti and an order is likely to be issued.
