Even as Mandi House seeks a second brush with fame, K-soaps’ presiding deity Ekta Kapoor seems unwilling to give up the K-word and will be coming out with another K-serial on Doordarshan sometime in December.

The serial from Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms is likely to be shown twice a week — on Friday and Saturday — on Doordarshan’s national channel, DD officials said.

Jeetendra of Balaji Telefilms said Balaji was associated in the past with DD and is seeking to renew old ties. ‘‘We have been trying to get the right slot on DD and are looking forward to showing our serial to DD viewers,’’ he said.

Ever since DD re-positioned its metro channel to a news channel, producers have been eyeing the channel which has a telecast fee of Rs 3 lakh for a half-hour programme because of the channel’s reach.
