NEW DELHI, December 15: Taking advantage of slowdown in the consumer electronic industry, Electrolux is looking for purchasing excess capacity from other manufacturers for manufacturing Kelvinator refrigerators and Electrolux washing machines.

The company has already bought excess capacity of Voltas in October this year for manufacturing refrigerators. Negotiations for buying excess capacity for washing machines are also going on.

"Talks are on with a number of manufacturers for buying manufacturing for washing machines, but concrete decision is awaited," said Craig Ibsen, President A B Electrolux (India).

"In spite of the industry not registering a healthy growth

rate, the demand for our products has not declined. To create a balance between the supply-demand chain, we are looking for buying excess capacity," Isben said.
