Vadodara, April 27: Major General M C Sebastin, commandant, EME School along with a team of EME officers visited the central workshop of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) here on Monday and appreciated its operations.

According to a press release, ONGC general manager (Central Workshop) B S Talwar took the visiting team around the workshop and apprised them about various functions, specifications and capabilities of the workshops’ units and sectors.

Established in 1964, the workshop caters to the fabrication and repair requirements of the western region, besides carrying out critical jobs for Mumbai offshore.

, eastern and southern regions of the ONGC. The workshop has five main sectors and is equipped to carry out repairs of rigs, engines, motors, electrical equipment, vehicles and other oil field equipment.

The release added that the workshop has to its credit the manufacturing of special equipment like hydraulically operated 20-ton proppant carriers, cement bunkers and silos, reeving winch for offshore drilling rigs, pressure vessels etc.
