Entrapping emotions in photos

CHANDIGARH, Feb 18: Come, see the action captured live in photos. Visit the Punjab Kala Bhawan Art Gallery for the exhibition of photographs of world class athletes in action at Kualalumpur Commonwealth Games 1998, by photo-journalist Santokh Singh Mander.

The photos have vividly captured the emotions of the athletes. The exhibition takes one to the different sporting events and familiarise one with the athletes, their moments of glory, ecstasy, defeat, pain, action, hope….Santokh Singh has entrapped it all in his camera!

The entrance to the stadium, the clowns entertaining the children, spectators…he has tried to capture the entire mood of the games in the stadium through his eye’. What disappoints one though is the captions that go with the photographs. Badly composed, they fail to deliver the captured mood.
