MUMBAI, DECEMBER 20: This is the season of quiz shows and in the same lieu comes one more the ESPN School Olympiad albeit with a difference. Here the participants will make no money instead the Rs 5 lakh prize-money will be directed to the schools of the winners for promotion of sports.

The show to be aired from December 26, provides yet another opportunity to Indian school children to display their intellect much in the same way as the Bournvita quiz show. The participants for the contest, to be aired five days a week from Tuesday to Friday, will

be drawn from over 108 schools of 15 cities from across the country to be quizzed by well-known TV presenter Harsha Bhogle.

Students who would test their skills in the 61-episode contest will be in for a windfall in terms of prizes. The the champion team will fetch Rs 5 lakh, runners-up Rs 2 lakh, each zonal winners Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 per team for semi-final winners. The winning team would be, alongwith one of their teachers, will be flown to witness one sporting event abroad ranging from Cricket to Wimbledon to Formula 1 racing.

Out of the 500 schools that took part in the qualifiers, 108 made the grade from Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Calcutta, Guwahati, Patna, Lucknow, Cochin, Hyderabad, Banglore, Chennai, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Pune and Mumbai.
