EGO TUSSLES: Harin Thaker and Vandana Jhaveri present a Gujarati play, Abhimaan. A social drama, it is the story of the conflict between an egoist daughter-in-law, played by Zankhana Desai, and her warm-hearted mother-in-law, played by Kalpana Diwan. At Tejpal, Gowalia Tank. Time: 3.45 pm.

EVIL OBSESSION: Mudra Production presents Savita Damodar Paranjape, a Gujarati play, originally written by Shekhar Tamhane, and directed by Sarita. Starring Ketki Dave, Rasik Dave and Rajiv Mehta, it tells the story of obsessive love bordering on insanity. At Tejpal, Gowalia Tank. Time: 7.45 pm.

THE BEST LAUGHS: Devendra Pem’s hugely successful comedy All The Best is being staged in Gujarati at Hinduja, Charni Road. Time: 7.45 pm. The English version will be played at Rangsharda, Bandra. SOCIETY SNAP: Writer Pravin Solanki and director Feroz Bhagat present a social drama in Gujarati called Malava Jewa Manaso. At Patkar Hall. Time: 7.45 pm.

MUSICAL CHAIRS: Hosi Vasunia and Meher and Nosherwan Jehangir have produced an English comedy, Don’t Dress For Dinner. Starring Hosi Vasunia, Farid Currim and Devika Sahani, it is about a married couple who are having an extra-marital and have a dinner date with the same person. At Sophia auditorium, Breach Candy. SOLO SHOW: Shyamkant Jadhav, a painter from Kolhapur, is holding an exhibition of his paintings on nature. Jadhav is also a poet and a prolific author of children’s literature.

KIDSCAPE: Shivalik Arts has organised four summer camps, for children between 9 to 14 years of age, called Kaleidoscope at Nehru Planetarium. The cartooning and voice culture workshop will be conducted by Vivek Mhetre and Chetan Sashital. From: May 7 to May 10, 1997. Time: 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
