Chandigarh, June 16: Water colours by Raj K. Jain went on display today at the IndusInd Bank Art Gallery. The exhibition was inaugrated by well known local artist B.R. Rattan.

Jain, a lecturer in the Government College of Art, has chosen the wall as the basic theme in these paintings. He explained: "I believe the wall is a part of us, both visible and invisible. The latter (invisible) assumes myriad forms within us, illogical to the conscious self, yet meaningful. I drew inspiration from my own experiences, recalling obstructions I encountered and how I overcame them." The 18 paintings were done over a period of a year.

The artist has also exhibited his works in the United Kingdom. The exhibition is open till the June 29.
